ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By registering an account on monopoli.my, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
These Terms constitute a binding agreement between you and monopoli.my (the "Platform"), operated as an unregistered business pending incorporation in Malaysia.
ABOUT THE PLATFORM
monopoli.my is a verified asset owner network — a social and gamified platform where property and business owners in Malaysia can:
- Register and verify real estate holdings using legal ownership documents
- Earn points and climb a national leaderboard
- Participate in seasonal campaigns with prize pools
- View aggregated, anonymised property data on a national heatmap
monopoli.my is not a property portal, a licensed real estate agency, a financial advisor, an investment platform, or a marketplace. We do not broker property transactions, facilitate payments, hold client funds, or provide regulated financial services of any kind. Any transactions between users must be completed off-platform through licensed solicitors and comply with all applicable Malaysian laws.
ELIGIBILITY
To use monopoli.my, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be a Malaysian citizen or permanent resident, or a foreign national legally owning assets in Malaysia
- Have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements under Malaysian law
- Not have been previously banned or suspended from the platform
By registering, you confirm that you meet all eligibility requirements. We reserve the right to request proof of eligibility at any time.
ACCOUNT REGISTRATION
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate, current, and complete information at registration and keeping it updated
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your password and all account activity that occurs under your credentials
- Notifying us immediately at strategy@monopoli.my if you suspect unauthorised access to your account
You may only register one account per person. Creating multiple accounts to gain additional points or leaderboard positions is prohibited and will result in permanent suspension of all associated accounts.
VERIFICATION & DOCUMENTS
When submitting documents for asset verification, you confirm and warrant that:
- All documents uploaded are genuine, unaltered, and legally obtained
- You are the legal owner or co-owner of the property or business being verified
- The documents accurately represent the ownership status at the time of submission
- You have the right to share these documents with monopoli.my for the purpose of verification
Submitting fraudulent, forged, or altered documents is a serious offence under the Penal Code (Malaysia) and may constitute criminal fraud. monopoli.my reserves the right to report suspected fraud to relevant authorities and will permanently suspend accounts involved in document fraud with no refund of any points or prizes.
Verification is conducted manually by the platform administrator. Verification decisions are at our sole discretion. A document being accepted does not constitute legal confirmation of ownership for any purpose outside this platform.
POINTS, LEVELS & CAMPAIGNS
The monopoli.my points system, leaderboard levels, and seasonal campaigns are platform engagement mechanics, not financial instruments.
- Points have no monetary value and cannot be redeemed for cash, transferred between accounts, or exchanged outside the platform
- Leaderboard rankings are updated in real time and are based solely on verified platform activity
- The RM 100,000 Season 1 prize is a promotional campaign incentive paid at the sole discretion of the platform operator to the first user to reach 1,000,000 points within the campaign period
- Campaign rules, end dates, and prize structures may be modified at our discretion with reasonable notice to users
- We reserve the right to disqualify any user from campaigns if we have reasonable grounds to suspect fraudulent activity, document forgery, or manipulation of the points system
- Points may be reset between seasons. Season 1 top 10 users will receive a permanent Hall of Fame badge on their profile
The prize pool is not a regulated financial product and does not constitute a lottery, gaming activity, or investment scheme under Malaysian law.
USER CONDUCT
By using the platform, you agree not to:
- Upload false, misleading, or fraudulent documents or property information
- Create multiple accounts or otherwise manipulate the points or leaderboard system
- Use the platform to harass, defame, or harm other users
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or platform systems
- Scrape, copy, or republish platform data including leaderboard rankings and heatmap data without written permission
- Use the platform to conduct or facilitate any unlicensed financial, investment, or real estate agency activities
- Post content that violates any applicable Malaysian law, including but not limited to defamation, obscenity, or incitement
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or ownership status
Violation of any of the above may result in immediate account suspension, forfeiture of points and campaign eligibility, and where appropriate, referral to law enforcement.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All platform content — including the monopoli.my name, logo, interface design, heatmap visualisations, and underlying software — is the intellectual property of the platform operator and is protected under Malaysian intellectual property law.
You retain ownership of the documents you upload. By uploading documents, you grant monopoli.my a limited, non-exclusive licence to use them solely for the purpose of manual verification. This licence terminates upon account deletion.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any platform content without written permission.
DISCLAIMERS
The platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding:
- The accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any property data displayed on the platform — all values are user-declared and unaudited unless verified
- The uninterrupted or error-free operation of the platform
- The security of data transmitted over the internet
- The outcome of any property transaction connected to a user meeting on the platform
Nothing on monopoli.my constitutes financial, legal, investment, or real estate advice. Always consult a licensed professional before making property or business decisions.
The platform is currently in Alpha — data, rankings, and points may be reset before the official public launch. Users are notified of resets via in-app notice.
LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, monopoli.my and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to:
- Loss of data, points, or leaderboard position due to technical issues
- Losses arising from reliance on property data displayed on the platform
- Losses arising from transactions between users conducted off-platform
- Unauthorised access to your account due to your failure to maintain password security
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim shall not exceed RM 100 or the amount you have paid to us in the preceding 12 months, whichever is lower. As the platform is currently free to use, our liability is limited to RM 100.
TERMINATION
By you: You may delete your account at any time via Profile Settings → Danger Zone. All your data will be permanently removed within 30 days.
By us: We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account without notice if we have reasonable grounds to believe you have:
- Violated these Terms of Use
- Submitted fraudulent or forged documents
- Attempted to manipulate the points or leaderboard system
- Engaged in conduct that harms other users or the platform's integrity
Upon termination for cause, forfeited points and campaign eligibility will not be restored.
GOVERNING LAW
These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force.
CHANGES TO TERMS
We may update these Terms of Use at any time. Material changes will be communicated via:
- An in-app notice displayed to all logged-in users
- An email notification to all registered users for significant changes
- Updated Last Updated date at the top of this page
Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to revised Terms, you must stop using the platform and delete your account.
